Migrating to Ally
You already have a mentor. You might have notes in a Google Doc, meetings on Zoom, an invoice from an old marketplace. Here is how the switch works in practice.
From another platform
- Export your notes. BetterUp, Coach.me and most competitors let you download a session archive. Save as PDF or Markdown.
- Sign up for Ally Starter (free). Enter your email at the sign-in page; magic link creates your cabinet.
- Import notes. From cabinet → data import, paste or drag your PDF/Markdown. Ally parses it into session-scoped documents dated to your original meetings.
- Match a mentor. Complete the three-question intake. If you want to bring your own mentor, see below.
- Cancel the old subscription. Ally does not handle the cancellation for you — do it from the old platform to avoid double billing.
From a private mentor + Zoom
If your existing mentor is willing to join Ally, they can create a mentor account (they will get an invite from us). Once approved, they can be matched to you specifically. Your existing history moves via the same import flow.
If your existing mentor prefers not to join, Ally will match you with someone in similar territory. Your imported notes travel with you, so the new mentor reads context before the first session.
What we don't migrate
Third-party artefacts stay third-party: recorded Zoom videos, files stored on the other platform's system, invoice PDFs. Ally cannot fetch these on your behalf.
